Dilip Shah, MD, specializes in cardiovascular diseases, and is board certified in internal medicine as well as cardiology. He completed advanced training in interventional cardiology and specializes in cardiac catheterizations, coronary angioplasties, coronary stents, as well as pacemaker and defibrillator placement.
Dr. Shah believes preventive medicine is critical to maintaining cardiovascular health. Focusing on reducing the risk factors of heart disease, Dr. Shah encourages a healthy lifestyle for his patients, which includes eating a nutritious, balanced diet and engaging in physical activity most days of the week. Dr. Shah is past chairman of the department of medicine at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. He is also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the Illinois State Medical Society. Dr. Shah completed his medical education at the University of Baroda in Baroda, India, and performed an internship at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Veterans Affairs Hines
Hospital, and his advanced cardiovascular training at Loyola Medical Center, both in Maywood, IL.
