Dr. Mary Kanashiro is a board-certified internal medicine physician, who has been in practice in the south suburbs since 1995. As an internist, Dr. Kanashiro is equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings—no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex. She is specially trained to solve puzzling diagnostic problems and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time. Dr. Kanashiro has a thorough understanding of wellness and disease prevention and cares for both women and men in her practice.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Kanashiro views her patients as whole individuals and believes in taking time to listen to her patients’ concerns while explaining all treatment options.
Dr. Kanashiro earned her medical degree at San Marcos University in Lima, Peru. She completed internal medicine residencies at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Edgardo Rebagliati Hospital in Lima, Peru. She is a member of the Illinois State Medical Society and certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
In her spare time, Dr. Kanashiro enjoys reading and traveling.
